Why export your Instagram stats?
Insights, in the Instagram app, shows your numbers post by post. Handy for a quick look, not enough to spot trends across your last 20 or 30 posts. Exporting your data gives you one comparable file: the raw material for a real performance analysis.
It's also the only way to have an outside tool process your data. Influlab IA reads this CSV file and finds your performance patterns automatically.
How do you get your Instagram Insights data?
The export isn't done from the Instagram app but through Meta Business Suite, Meta's management tool for professional and creator accounts.
Check your account type
A professional or creator account is needed to reach detailed Insights. You can check this in Settings → Account type.
Open Meta Business Suite
From the Instagram app: ☰ menu → "Meta Business Suite". On a computer, you can also go straight to business.facebook.com.
Go to Insights
In the left menu, click "Insights", then the "Content" tab.
Start the export
Click "Export data", pick your Instagram account, the period and the content type (posts, Reels, stories), then generate the report.
Download the CSV
Once the report is ready, click the download icon to get your file in CSV format.
Meta often rearranges Business Suite. If a label differs, look for "Insights" or "Export" in the main menu: the feature is there, only its location may vary slightly.
Which file should you use?
The file generated by Meta Business Suite is in .csv format, ready to use. You drop this file, unchanged, into Influlab IA's import area.
Influlab IA accepts CSV files up to 2 MB and 5,000 rows: a standard Instagram export stays well within these limits.
How do you import the data into Influlab IA?
Open the tool and choose Instagram
On the analysis page, select Instagram as the platform before dropping your file.
Drop your CSV
Drag and drop the exported file or click to select it from your device.
Get your diagnosis
