Why export your YouTube stats?

YouTube Studio shows your numbers video by video, but comparing 20 or 50 videos directly in the interface is tedious. Exporting as a CSV gives you one usable file with all your metrics lined up: what you need to spot trends rather than judge one video in isolation.

It's also what lets an outside tool analyze your data. Influlab IA reads this CSV file and generates a diagnosis of your performance, without you going through everything yourself.

How do you export your data from YouTube Studio?

The export goes through YouTube Analytics' advanced mode, available on a computer only (not from the mobile app).

1

Sign in to YouTube Studio

Go to studio.youtube.com and sign in with your account.

2

Open Analytics

In the left menu, click "Analytics".

3

Switch to advanced mode

Under a report (for example "Content" or "Audience"), click "ADVANCED MODE" or "See more".

4

Adjust the period and metrics

Pick the date range and the columns you want. The table updates live.

5

Export the current view

At the top of the page, click "Export current view" (download icon) and choose the .csv format.

A limit to know

YouTube Studio's built-in export is limited to 500 rows per report. For a channel with many videos, shorten the period or filter by content to stay under this limit. Source: YouTube help, advanced mode.

Which file should you use in Influlab IA?

The downloaded file is already in .csv format: no conversion needed. You drop this file, as is, into Influlab IA's import area.

Influlab IA accepts CSV files up to 2 MB and 5,000 rows, which easily covers a standard YouTube Studio export.

Which data can be analyzed?

Influlab IA automatically detects the numeric columns in your export and lets you choose which ones to analyze. Depending on the report exported from YouTube Studio, your CSV may contain:

Views Watch time Average view duration Likes Comments Impressions Click-through rate (CTR) Subscribers gained/lost

Influlab IA automatically calculates the available averages, minimums and maximums to build your diagnosis: no manual file preparation needed.

How do you import your file into Influlab IA?

1

Open the tool and choose YouTube

On the analysis page, select YouTube as the platform before dropping your file.

2

Drop your CSV

Drag and drop the exported file or click to select it from your computer.

3

Get your diagnosis

Influlab IA analyzes your data and generates a report with your strengths, areas to improve and an action plan.

To see how this file is read, column by column, go to the YouTube stats analysis page.

Common problems

Can't find the export on mobile
The CSV export is only available on the desktop version of YouTube Studio. Use a computer for this step.
File cut off at 500 rows
That's the built-in limit of the standard export. Shorten the period or export in batches if your channel has many videos.
Wrong report exported
Check that you're in the "Content" report (per-video metrics) before exporting, rather than an audience-only report.
Not enough data
A channel with very few videos over the chosen period will give a limited export and a less relevant analysis.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export my YouTube stats from the mobile app?

No, the CSV export is a feature of YouTube Studio's advanced mode, available on a computer only.

Why does my export only have 500 rows?

That's YouTube Studio's built-in limit for a standard export. To go further, YouTube recommends its Reporting API, which is more technical to set up.

Does Influlab IA store my YouTube CSV file?

No, no raw data is stored: only the generated analysis report is kept.

Does the CSV file contain the same data for every channel?

The available columns depend on the metrics and dimensions you select in advanced mode before exporting, so the file's content can vary from one channel to another.

In short

Exporting your YouTube data takes five steps: YouTube Studio, Analytics, advanced mode, adjusting the period, then exporting the current view as a CSV. The file imports directly into Influlab IA, with nothing else to do.

Keep an eye on the 500-row limit if your channel posts a lot: it directly affects how complete your analysis is.
